2020 Wooster Natural Foods Annual All-Member Meeting Sunday, January 19 at Wooster Natural Foods, 2 PM.

Our Annual All-Member Meeting will be held at Wooster Natural Foods on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the store.  This is the only meeting of the year, in which the Council invites regular WNF members to attend.

The meeting will include the following:
Summaries of 2019 WNF activities, by Manager Gemini O'Neill, Treasurer Jon Black, and President Susan Shie.
An open discussion of the year's activities will be held.
Anyone who's a member of Wooster Natural Foods can come to this meeting.

If you are interested in being a member of our Council, then please write to President Susan Shie at susanshie@gmail.com, and request our small interview questionnaire.  When you receive that via email, please fill it out and mail it back to Susan.  You need to have this quiestionnaire back to Susan before the Annual Meeting happens.
The Council is looking for one new member at this point.  Members are expected to attend the monthly Council meetings, held on the third Sunday of each month at 2 pm at the store.

If there is anything to vote on at this Annual Meeting, only one person from each member household may vote.

If the weather is bad on the Annual Meeting date, we will hold this meeting on the next Sunday, at the same time.  If that day is also too bad for having the meeting, we will postpone the Annual Meeting to the 3rd Sunday in February.

Co-op 2019 Annual All-Member meeting RESCHEDULED DATE notice

Change to Wooster Natural Foods 2019 Annual All-Member meeting notice: Rescheduled for Feb 17, 2019, due to this weekend's snowstorm.

We will have our 2019 Annual All-Member meeting of Wooster Natural Foods on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at 2 PM at the Co-op, Wooster Natural Foods, at 138 E Liberty St, Wooster. OH 44691.  Anyone who is a member of this food co-op is welcomed to attend this meeting, but please let us know ahead of time that you are coming, so we can figure out what seating needs we’ll have.  Call the store at 330-264-9797 and ask the staff to put you on the attendance list.

This meeting was to be on Sunday, January 20, but is being moved to February 17, because of the severe weather forecast for the weekend of Jan 19-21, 2019.

Besides the Council and Staff presenting our annual reports, we are seeking applicants for positions on our Council. 

The Council meets on the third Sunday of each month at 2 PM, and we are strictly an advisory group for the Staff.  New Council applicants will be voted on at this Annual Meeting, with one vote per member household, among those present at the meeting.

Council members must be paying members of Wooster Natural Foods, not using either student or senior discounts instead of paying your annual $10 membership. Members of the Council must attend monthly meetings whenever possible.

Special meeting

We will hold a special meeting on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2:30 PM, to vote on an amendment we wish to make to our co-op's by-laws.

The amendment is to officially declare Wooster Natural Foods to be a political free zone.
The amendment reads:

“Wooster Natural Foods is a political free zone. 

Shoppers at our store cannot be confronted with our personal political opinions in any form, for or against candidates or organizations.  Opinions about natural foods and natural healing are, of course, not part of this rule.

The Council will decide what is offensive political content, if this comes into dispute on the staff."

If the amendment receives a 51% or more majority vote, this amendment will be placed under Article Four, Duties of Council Members, in Section 4.01 - Management of Business.

If you are a member in good standing of Wooster Natural Foods co-operative, you can cast one vote per member household,  as with all of our voting procedures.
This meeting will come at the end of our regularly scheduled Council meeting, which itself begins at 2 PM.  Please come at 2:30 for the meeting about this amendment to the by-laws.
